Avenue Studios is a small building complex of artists spaces situated off The Fulham Road in Chelsea. Two small archways lead to the varied artists' studios. Austin Interior Design is on the westerly Sydney Close side and the other arch, Sydney Mews is on the easterly side.

The studios were stables converted into places for craftsmen to work on displays for the 1851 Great Exhibition at Crystal Palace. The name ‘Avenue' that was given to the studios refers to a long line of elm trees that, in the 18th century, ran from the Fulham Road right up to the Old Brompton Road marking a boundary between two nursery gardens. Some of these ancient trees are still living, just outside Austin Interior Design's door. Many designs which came from the craftsmen and artists are now a part of England's heritage. The stone lions at Trafalgar Square, the Queen's head on the British postage stamp, and the statue of Eros at Piccadilly Circus, all were conceived at these studios.

We welcome you to visit our historic studio. We enjoy the quiet, but energetic spirit that prevails in this small spot of London where we can create perfect interiors for our clients.
